Season Yearbook

Updated 2026-08-22

The 2022–23 yearbook. Regular season through week 13, then the two-week playoffs, then who had to wear it. Numbers are from Sleeper; the color is from the weekly notes. The 4-seed scored the most points, beat the 1-seed in the semis, and won the third ring. The championship preview had the week-16 score attached to the wrong name.

Regular season (weeks 1–13)

Pangy ran away with the 1-seed. Seif scored the most points in the league and still needed the last chair. Andy matched the champ’s 7–6 and finished 5th because 1,463 is not 1,761. Kris finished 3–10 and still had a draft class that ranked 4th.

Week 13 results that locked the bracket:

  • Joel 164.00 over Seif 150.72 — 3-seed locked; Seif still in on points
  • Pangy 139.44 over PJ 108.92 — 1-seed locked
  • CJ 137.98 over Tony 113.56 — both out
  • Neil 117.50 over Andy 114.40 — Andy stays 5th by a field goal
  • Jake 113.24 over Kris 79.84

Who won the draft

Starter points in weeks 1–13, credited to whoever drafted the player (trades do not move the credit).

Lost the draft: CJ at 1.02 on JT’s foot. Andy drafted Jefferson and mailed him to Neil for Kelce. Tony’s Najee pick is the record-and-finish version.

Who lost the season in November

Split at week 9. Joel got hotter. Neil and Kris did not.

ManagerWeeks 1–8Weeks 9–13The story
Joel4–4, 970 PF4–1, 729 PFWon November. Jacobs, Hurts, a 166 and a 164. Walked into the final.
Neil3–5, 959 PF1–4, 438 PFThe 184 in week 8 was the last joke. November scored like a bye week.
Kris2–6, 945 PF1–4, 526 PFTraded the good roster to PJ in week 4 and spent the rest of the year as the other half of the deal.
Andy5–3, 898 PF2–3, 564 PFIn the mix until week 13, then 114–118 to Neil. 7–6, 300 points short of the other 7–6.
Pangy / PJ6–2 / 6–24–1 / 3–2Did not lose November. Pangy just lost January.

The wire, the wallet, the trades

Nine trades. One of them was a roster swap dressed as a deal.

The trades that actually mattered:

  • Week 3, Andy ↔ Neil: Andy got Kelce, Patterson, Cooks. Neil got Jefferson, Knox, Koo. The 1.04 left the building. Neil’s board got Jefferson and still finished 9th.
  • Week 4, PJ ↔ Kris: PJ got Henry, Kittle, Jacobs, CeeDee, and Rodgers. Kris got Cook, Mahomes, Mattison, and Pitts. The monster. PJ was the 2-seed after it. Kris was 3–10.
  • Week 6, Kris ↔ PJ: Kris got Hopkins and Rodgers. PJ took Mahomes back. The return label.
  • Week 6, PJ ↔ Joel: PJ got Tyreek. Joel got Jacobs. Both made the playoffs. Joel made the final.
  • Week 7, Jake ↔ Neil: Jake got Jefferson, Lamar, Njoku, Gordon. Neil got Saquon, Dak, Gabe Davis, Pitts. The other Jefferson tour.
  • Week 9, Andy ↔ Tony: Andy got JuJu. Tony got Aaron Jones. Tony’s last meaningful add before 43 points.

Jake also flipped Hockenson to Kris in week 4 and later grabbed Waller from CJ. The waiver story the notes remember is PJ spending real FAAB on Kenneth Walker. The box scores remember the Kris trade.

Playoffs (two-week rounds)

Semis in weeks 14–15, championship and 3rd place in 16–17. Seeds: Pangy, PJ, Joel, Seif.

Joel over PJ141.28–119.68143.60–151.14284.88–270.82

The 1-seed lost both weeks. PJ won week 15 and still lost the series by 14. Joel’s 285 was a finals ticket. Seif’s 253 was the 4-seed doing 4-seed things to a 10–3 team.

Joel started an injured Hurts and left a shotgun in the recap. He was down 20 after week 16, not up 20 — the preview swapped the names. Seif won both weeks. Third ring, first since 2019. PJ scored 535 from week 14 on, most in the league, and finished 3rd.

Slutler

Tony. The championship preview did not wait for week 17. Week 14 was 43.36 points. Weeks 14–17:

Team portraits

Matt Seifert — The real BSD — Champion

7–6, 1,761 PF, the 4-seed that was the 1-seed in every category except wins. Allen, Adams, Ekeler. Beat Pangy, beat Joel, won both championship weeks. Third title. The preview hoped to end the third ring. It did not.

Joel Hernandez — The Hurts Locker — 2nd

CMC at 1.01, Hurts, Tyreek, a November 4–1, a semis win over PJ. Then the injured-QB championship and the shotgun. Lost 220–189. The 3-seed that got all the way there.

PJ Hardcastle — 8=========D — 3rd

9–4. Emptied Kris’s roster in week 4, took Mahomes back in week 6, added Tyreek the same week. Lost the semis by 14. Scored 535 after the season “ended.” The title wait was one more year.

Pangy — Sweet Brotha Numpsay — 4th

10–3. Burrow, Mixon, Chubb, Amon-Ra. Mixon 55 in week 9. Out in the first round to the points leader. The best regular season of the year and the quietest January.

Andy — Jus-Jonzin-4-Herb — 5th

7–6 with 1,463 PF. Drafted Jefferson, traded Jefferson, added Kelce, lost week 13 to Neil by 3. Same record as the champion. Not the same sport.

Chris Johnson — Wheelin & Thielen — 6th

JT at 1.02. 6–7. Waller for James Robinson. The 1.02 that became a mid-table finish.

Tony — Can you Diggs it? — Slutler

Diggs was real. The rest of the week-14 lineup was not. 43.36. The notes closed the book early.

Jake Bowen — One Snake No Kupp — 8th

The team name was the season. Kupp died, Jefferson arrived in week 7, Lamar too. 5–8. A 153 to open the year and a lot of 100s after that.

Neil Calvert — Unpaid Bills — 9th

Kamara at 1.10, a 184, Jefferson via Andy, Saquon via Jake. 4–9, 1,397 PF. Then 517 consolation points, first in the pool he did not need to win.

Kris Turner — BROWNS Fantasy — 10th

Henry at 1.03, a 174 in week 4, then the trade that built PJ’s 2-seed. 3–10. The draft class ranked 4th. The standings did not care.
