Regular season (weeks 1–13)
Kris was a 10–3, 1,848-point problem. Next-best record was 7–6. Next-best points was Seif at 1,625 — and Seif finished 6th. The league spent most of November arguing about four 7–5 teams and one 6–6 team chasing one last seat. Week 13 settled it: the three 7–5 playoff teams all lost, PJ won, and Neil was the odd man out on points for.

Seif’s season in one line: second in points, sixth in the standings, first in “how is this team 6–7.” Tony had Ja’Marr Chase at 1.01 and still finished 9th. Pangy opened 3–1 with a wrecked training room and never found the floor again.

Won the draft: Kris, and it was not subtle. JSN at 3.02 was the gasp pick. Pickens at 6.09 finished as a WR2. JT at 2.09 was the regular-season points monster. Bijan at 1.02 did Bijan things, then dropped 39.9 in week 17 when it counted.
Lost the draft: Pangy at 1.04, on volume and health. Tony is the honorable mention for turning the first pick into 9th place. PJ drafted like a mid-table team and still got the 2-seed, which is either a compliment to Rico Dowdle and Michael Pittman or an indictment of the board. Both can be true.

Split at week 9. October was a 10-team league. November was a sorting hat.

The wire, the wallet, the two trades
Budget was $100. Most of the league spent it. Highest single bids of the regular season:

The waiver hits that actually mattered: Rico Dowdle (PJ — RB10, won him weeks), Drake Maye (Neil — the reason Neon Keon was a 7–6 team and not a 5–8 team), Tet was a draft pick but the rest of Neil’s roster was a waiver construction project.
Trades — the league only made two.
- Week 4, Jake ↔ Andy: Jake got Ashton Jeanty and Chase Brown. Andy got David Montgomery. Andy had just taken Jeanty at 2.01.
- Week 5, Jake ↔ Seif: Jake flipped Chase Brown to Seif for Zay Flowers. Seif got the 10th-round keeper who was RB-productive the rest of the way, including 29.1 in week 17. Jake kept Jeanty and made the playoffs. Andy kept Montgomery and November.
That is the entire trade deadline. Everyone else decided to lose on their own.
Playoffs (two-week rounds)
Sleeper ran two weeks per round: semis in 14–15, championship and 3rd place in 16–17. Seeds were Kris, PJ, Joel, Jake.

The pre-playoff notes had Joel and PJ picking Jake over Kris, 294–276. Kris won by 68. Directionally, the other prediction was right: Jake’s preview had Joel ending the three-peat, 271–263. Joel won it by 43. Amon-Ra went for 41.4 in week 15. PJ spent the two weeks watching Cook / Rice / CeeDee not quite get there.

The final was not close. Kris put up 297 in two weeks; Joel put up 207. Bijan’s 39.9 in week 17 was the encore. Jake’s week 17 Derrick Henry game (45.6) won him a 3rd-place trophy and a what-if. PJ’s week 17 (78.48) was the quietest close of the four.
Postseason high scores that were not in the money: Puka 46.5 for Andy in week 16, Trevor Lawrence 44.3 for Tony in week 15, Gibbs 37 for CJ in week 14. The consolation bracket had hands.
Slutler
Last year it was Pangy. This year it was Pangy. The homepage still has the badge. The standings still have 4–9 and 1,373 points. The injury report had him at five OUT/IR/PUP by week 5, and the notes never really found a different ending.
Pool rules, for the archive: teams 7–10 in a least-points Slutler pool, with 8th −20, 9th −40, 10th −60. Regular-season finish into that pool was CJ, Andy, Tony, Pangy. Combined weeks 14–17:

He was last even before the −60. The penalty just made it official. (Teams 5–10 also run a most-points $100 pool. Over the same four weeks that would have been CJ at 540.78, with Neil last in the group at 413.10 — the rules example from last year, inverted.)
Team portraits
Kris Turner — Spitters not Quiters — Champion
10–3, 1,848 PF, pick 1.02, first title. Drafted Bijan, JT, JSN, Pickens, ETN and then mostly just… started them. Three losses, one of them the 197-point Seif game. Did not have to deal with the injury tax the rest of the league paid. The awards recap called him a believer in if you ain’t first, you’re last. The bracket agreed.
Joel Hernandez — Achane Reaction — 2nd
The WR room (Amon-Ra, Adams, later Stafford off waivers) got him to a 3-seed and a championship. Achane was a weekly problem. The final was a two-week mismatch. Stopping the three-peat is a real résumé line.
Jake Bowen — Egboogadaba — 3rd
#4 seed two years running. Javonte at 10.03 was the draft-night groan that became RB8. Henry finally showed up in week 17, which is a very Henry thing to do. Lost the semis in both weeks, not just the total. The 174-point week 5 was the regular-season peak.
PJ Hardcastle — Boswell that ends well. — 4th
Two-time defending champ, 2-seed, out in the semis. The roster was Cook, CeeDee, Rice, and a waiver WR1 he stole from Tony. Nabers lasted until he didn’t. The three-peat talk died in weeks 14–15. Fourth is a long way from a banner.
Neil Calvert — Neon Keon — 5th
7–6, missed on points. Rebuilt midseason with FAAB, rode Maye and McBride, drafted Tet in the 6th. The RB injuries never stopped. Week 13 vs Seif was the door closing. Tet looks like the keeper. The rest looks like a warning about spending $39 on Rachaad White.
Matt Seifert — Im sorry, Mc-Jackson, ooh — 6th
1,625 PF, 6–7. CMC was a monster. Bowers’s 43.3 week was the highest TE game of the year. Lamar was the letdown award. The November 4–1 run was a playoff team that started 2–6. Second in points is a cruel way to watch other people play in January.
CJ — Barbeque Gibbs — 7th
Gibbs went for 55.4. AJ Brown was a loyalty project. The team woke up in December, spoiled a couple of lock-in weeks, then ran up 541 consolation points. If the $100 pool paid on raw postseason scoring, he took it.
Andy — Mr. Turna 2-to-uh-Titanic — 8th
5–3 through eight weeks. Drafted Puka and Mahomes. Traded Jeanty and Chase Brown in week 4. Skattebo went supernova and then to IR. November: 1–4, 451 points, a 60-burger from Kris. The boat name was not ironic for long.
Tony Warner — It’s just a Ladd — 9th
Drafted Chase 1.01. Finished 5–8. Tyler Warren was the steal (8.10, TE4). The waiver habit was spend, drop, spend again — Pittman being the exhibit. Still beating Jake in week 13 was a nice souvenir. It did not change the portrait.
Pangy — Josh Allen’s New Phat Hog — Slutler
Allen was elite. Everyone else was on a trainer’s table. Saquon at 1.04, Woody Marks at $38, Michael Carter at $17, five guys unavailable by week 5, 4–9, last in points, last in the pool. The notes in week 13: “I don’t know man. Just do better?” That is the yearbook quote.
